What makes a good company name

A strong name usually has three parts: a distinctive word + a descriptive word + a legal ending (Inc., Ltd. or Corp.).

Examples: Maple Leaf Roofing Inc. · Bright Harbour Consulting Ltd.

Names that are only descriptive or too general (e.g. “Best Plumbing Inc.”) may be rejected — make the distinctive part unique.

Backup names (recommended)

The registry may reject your first choice if it's too similar to an existing company. One or two alternatives let us file without stopping to ask you again.
